Depends on so many things. I say B's are more cost effective while K's have more potential as long as you have tons of $$$

For ultimate power and torque, K-series is better. But K-series motors are expensive and hard to swap into older cars.

I agree. For an EG hatch, i would say that applies correctly.

have you ever taken a close look at a k series motor? There Is a lot more **** goin on with them. To me everything seems buried under about a zillion wires.

and define standard maintance. like oil changes? or things like valve adjustments and belt replacements.

I dont think its fair to say that one enginecan be 'better' than another. If its built properly then it is a good engine, in my opinion. You have to assume there is a reason that they went to the K series instead of stay with the B series. Newer engine = newer technology, including everything being burried under a collage of wires.
I have a fully built B series, which I adore, but would I love a built K20A2, **** yeah, no question.
The K series has great torque, revs super smoooth (most engines do) and has a ton of potential with upgrades. Its also expensive, becuase they are newer.
B series have umpteen available parts and people have done write-ups on how to do everything on those engines. i like both, on a budget B series, with unlimited funds build up a K series, why not. Both excelent power plants

I have a K series and there arent that many wires. I had the harness unplugged and off in about 5 minutes.

There are H and K motors making around and over 350WHP.

B motors dont even come close to that.

I havent seen any naturally aspirated K engines coming close to 350hp. And if youre talking turbo, well then, youre just plain wrong.
