So many questions today :D how much is my stock 91 si motor worth?
It's got 200k miles. It runs. Don't know how much work has been done to it (rebuilding ect.) but it runs... Burns oil though. Tranny doesnt grind however... How much would the tranny/motor/ecu complete everything be worth if I let it go on ebay or somthing...
Eh, pretty much chump change considering the tranny grinds and the motor burns oil. People looking for si trannys wont want one that grinds, cost too mcuh to rebuild them to to just spend a little extra on one that works. Pretty much the same for the motor, but you may be able to find someone lookign for one to build, but even then, he wont want to spend alot on it, since thats the reason he's lookign for one in need of a rebuild. I would'nt give you more than 100 for them.
Oh, the ecu might be worth something though, people still need them for mpfi swaps. Probably get 50 bux for it.

Yeah I'm not sure about ebay prices, but I think you could get around $100 for the engine and $125 for the transmission pretty easily. People are always looking for Si trannys that don't grind.. and decent Si motors are always good to drop in to pass smog or to use while you build your motor. I sold an A6 block for $75, it was in decent condition. He just wanted to build it up for boost.
I wouldn't hope for anything more than 250 at the most. Your SI tranny is probably worth more than the complete engine.
Man $250 isnt going to buy me a c5 lol I think I should just stick with the D series till I get everything else worked out *suspension*paint*newglass*HKS cat back*techniq hub*sparco wheel*jdmcluster*jdmfrontend* ok im going to stop myself before I realize I only have $180 right now...
Do the motor first. Trust me. You will finally come to the realization that looks don't matter. It's what's inside that counts.

ha a few months ago i found a completely stock 91 si civic in my mom's friend's yard she sold it to me for 500 dollars (actually 400 and 100 worth of yard work). nothing wrong with it except for cosmetic defects. when i got in the car i looked at the odometer and it only has 111000 original miles on it.
whats even better i looked at the title and shes the only owner. she even kept all the reciepts from when she got maintainance done... by the dealership nonetheless. she used to drive it to college everyday, but got knocked up and had to buy a minivan. i almost cried when i put it in a ditch a few weeks ago.

well that depends on where you sell your engine... in h-t you probably could sell it from free range to $150 and like they said your SI tranny is probably worth more than the engine... outside though... you can still sell that from $300-$700... and depends on to whom you are selling to... like if you we're to put it in car classified in your local newspaper... i think someone who doesn't really know that they can get a d-series engine for dirt cheap might actually think they are getting a great deal with $700..instead of actually buying a remanufactured engine....
