painting steelies black??
just gonna throw this out there, to see what u guys think..
i currently have a set of 13" steelies on my 98 hx, and i think im gonna leave them on for awhile, because driving with the 13"s is more fun then the 17" konig appeals i have..
so heres the question, is spray painting the steelies black considered rice/ghetto/ whatever else, and does anyone have any pictures of painted black steelies on a black coupe??
thanks for the input

i've seen the stock hubs for 96-00 civics painted black. looked hella clean, too. as of right now, i'm rolling on steelies but am about to (finally!) get my circuit8's in flat black.

Right after the B18 swap we went for the sleeper look and painted the steelies flat black (sorry the car is not black
)

I think if you do it right, it can look sweet. If you get some 215/50-13 Sumitomo tires for the front, it will give you some extra traction and give you a higher final drive ratio too! Make you JUMP out of the hole

Those are the factory centercaps & lugnuts that came on the bottom of the line CX models
Maybe somebody else can tell you, but I don't know if they will fit 14's

one of my rota slipstreams got a flat (black del sol), so i took the two back ones off and put the steelies back on. but before i did that i painted them flat balck with cheap $1.00 wallmart spray paint. i used the stock chrome lugnuts and centercaps and i think it looks great. the only problem is that the rims are oney 4.5" wide. i liked the look so much that im even considering selling my rotas and looking for a set of balck steelies that are wider, maybe off another car. ill try to get pics soon
I'm thinking about doing this now as I don't have wheels yet, and I don't know if I should get them yet because I'm from Jersey and well, winter is coming up.
Should I spray primer on them also. Usually how many coats of primer should I put on them before spraying them with the flat black paint? Also how many coats of flat black should I spray on them.
How long should I wait in between each coat? Thanks.

haha, My 1994 CX had the silver steelies and it looked awful IMO. Pops and I painted them flat black and it was much improved. It looks 10 times better.
