Default motor swap

im about to swap a motor from a 1991 crx si into my 1988 crx si and i was wonderind if everything will bolt up without any mods? Both are d16a6 motors with stock trannys the only problem is that my motor smokes and his is flawless but his tranny is done. Mine on the other hand is perfect. I havent found any valuable info from my previous searches so thats why i came here . I need help fast. Thanks ahead of time for anything.

Default Re: motor swap (jpnucrx)

bolts right in - you will need to use the 88 engine harness on the 91 engine - the connector that plugs into the chassis harness on the driver's side is a round 8 wire connector on the 91 and a square 6 wire on the 88 - the 91 has a Fast Idle Control Valve on the back of the intake manifold on the driver's side that isn't on your 88 - just plug the vacuum lines and don't worry about it - everything else hooks right up
