depends on what route you would like to take and what kind of racing you want to use the car for. Also depends if you are daily driving it or not!

Agreed. Either way, im going to go ahead and suggest ARP rod bolts as a "should be on every rebuild" staple
But yea- need to know if you just want a reliable motor, something that rips, or something in between.

ARP rod bolts, Head studs, High Compression, big cams and good flowing exhaust and intake mani's and you are good to go. Don't forget tuning and a fuel controller.
as in notstock93 reply i would like somethin in between and that sumthin that could be done within over the next month cause its spring now and the snow should be gone by then, lol.
So you want something that will make good power and be easy to drive everyday?
How much are you looking to spend?
Will you be doing more drag racing or auto-x/road racing?

For good power and everyday friendliness on a b18a, you looking at some mild or stock cams, and preferably higher compression. The head could use a porting, but that's getting very expensive very quickly. I would find some PR3 pistons, and rebuild it with OEM parts and ARP rod and head studs. You would have a B18 with 10.8:1 compression and a beefy bottom end. This would require some tuning to prevent detonation as the stock PR4 ECU is setup for 9.2:1 CR.
Obviously, before you buy the pistons, you need to see if you are going to have to get over-sized or stock sized. Rings would be bought accordingly. Ive only seen one B18 with stock cams and PR3 pistons. He didn't gain too much HP since he was undercammed, but his torque was NUTS.
All in all, a higher compression B18A is a very formidable motor.
