Default 94 Accord retro-fit...

Ok guys, quick question, i have a 94 Accord, are there any parts, such as guage cluster from any other Honda that is decently simple retrofit into our 94 Accords?

I want to do something different, so just wanted a general concensus of parts that can be swapped.

I've seen a 97+ Prelude cluster in the accord. I think the cluster from the 94-97 Acura CL will fit as well.

cool, i just bid on a guage cluster on ebay for the CL...hopefully it works out for me and everythings good, then if not, worst comes to worst, i'll just extract the guages, because they look identical and insert them into my existing cluster. Anyone know what color the 97 CL guages light up?

you are going to have to get a wiring diagram for the cluster, as the two will not have identical harnesses...

thats interesting, i was told that they did, but in any case, if they dont, i guess we'll have to make some modifications to it, either that, or take out the guages from the pod im buying and switch them out. Its should be fun, i'll snap a few pics of it when its done. I have white face guages right now and i hate them and i dont know if they'll come off cleanly so this is more like a backup plan i had that im gonna go ahead with.

damn, well, we'll find out, see, I have a backup plan, if the cluster install doesnt match my install skills, well then im gonna remove the temp guage and the fuel gauge and retro-fit the two of those. Thats my idea, but then that might end up being more of a pain in the ***. See, i dont know whether or not that Acura CL in 97 was made in America or in Japan, because our 94 Accords are made by Honda of America MFG., Inc.

I believe those are 2 different clusters, just because the discrepency in miles, it might be the same car but pictures taken at 2 different times. It looks really nice, the install seems so clean. I wonder, i hope Con gets that CL cluster in his car with no snags!

how does the gas gauge work, thats the only thing that worries me, i guess i'll get my car filled up, then, i will disconnect the battery, then install the cluster, and then turn the car on, and it should take the gauge all the way to full, right? that makes sense?

As far as I know it doesn't matter what the gas gauge is at since it get's the fuel level from the sending unit. But yeah, I'd keep it at full to make sure it's working.

Another thought, how does the RPM indicator work? I notice it has the 7500K cutoff and the accord is around 6500.

As far as i know i think its a simple plug and play, the cluster is identical completely up to the numbers on the speedo and tach.

I hope its a plug and play, ****, anyone here in NJ wanna help me do this? I'm gonna provide the beer, chow and whatever else...let me know!

hey guys, putting an Acura CL cluster into the 94 accord is a complete plug and play, the only thing i suggest is this, the two bottom screw holes match up on the Acura cluster, but the top 2 dont, so you have to, and its imperative you do this before you close up the dash, you have to make sure its in there nice and tight, i suggest using zip ties, so its fastened and secure, but most importantly, its not crooked when you close everything up...

im sure people can rig something, there is always a way, good luck!
