Default Need help with supercharger

I have a b16a1 (JDM OBDO) swapped into my 88crx. Its got some basic mods, but its beginning to become boring. My first instinct was to turbo the engine, but i am budgeted and can't afford that right now. Getting to the point, I was looking at superchragers, in specific this one http://www.vortechsupercharger....html
Now my question is will the supercharger bolt onto my existing engine with little or no modifcation? If it matters i have jdm bumpers on my car. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That statements seems fairly unfounded. I'm in canada and the supercharger with 8-9psi i can get for 2800. To turbocharge my b16 it would cost me atleast 2500.

Im not talking about a ghetto setup. The vortech kit is a very well made kit. If you can't answer my question if it will fit with minor modification, why are you here?

im only familar with Jackson Racing supercharger for the 99 Si, I have HCP mounts for my b16 and it clears evrything fine , only work I had to do was to get the heater lines re routed around the charger to retain heat a very tight fit, but well worth it

WHO said ghetto??? I am here cause I can be......Superchargers are wack if you wanna make some real power......Have fun with that though.................. And you are just plain STUPID if you think you can't put together a non ghetto turbo kit for 1500 that would out perform a supercharger.......

I've built more engines than you have i can guarantee that, so don't get lippy because your idea doesnt work. If you want proof look up the fastest ITR in western Canada, as it beat the pants off the spoon ITR. I live in Canada and when i order parts we pay exchange rate, gst, customs, and such. I guess you haven't realized that Canada $ is worth less than an american dollar. But that is economics and doesnt pertain to this thread; simular to your posts. The vortech chanrger add 117hp and 65ft/lbs of torque, more than enough for a crx.

To the guy who had the jrsc which b16 engine was it a1?

You can make your own turbo kit cheaper then it would cost for a supercharger. It really is cheaper then you think, and it doesnt have to be "ghetto".The only supercharger I would even think about running is the one from Endyne and I think that they only make it for D series, although they might be able to retrofit one to a B series or something. That kit will cost a chunk of change, but its about the only SC that I would put under my hood....

those cost more then a good safe homemade turbo kit or some nice head work.
and I really hate vortech its like half a turbo lol.

I dont get where you are going with the SOHc , but sure. The car is a street car 277hp (with a few other goodies bumped compressin, some minor head work, itr cams, 8-9psi) will go along very well in a light crx.

Before you make another stupid comment thats one of the engines. In the second pic you might notice the spoon sports itr right behind it. The car was lapped 3 times if you car to look up the race results. The pictures were taken during the vancouver indy.

For the people suggesting turbo i dont want to spend anything on internals for this car the vortech charger makes this easier.

dont wanna spend money on internals? whats that supposed to mean? if u can add x amount of power with a supercharger, and the same amount with a turbo, why would u need to put new internals in for the turbo and not the supercharger?

The obvious mod is to cut your bumper to fit the fmic and piping and so forth also need to pull out the ac if you have one besides you dont need an ac in Canada lol jk depending what mounts you have iy may need some shaving or something but since you've built more motors than i you already know that nothing ever goes as planed good luck it will burn people off the line no spool time lots a torque

About your super duper engine you built yourself...
Spoon isn't that great....

And if thats not enough, I don't care how many times you lapped the thing, there's many different factors that come into play when you're talking about road racing.

Get off your high horse, you're not so great.

How about all you guys stop posting useless crap and help the guy out? This is the exact reason people bag on Honda people, and honda-tech for that matter.

As far as the Vortech kit goes, I can't help much. On the other hand I do know that Hasport makes some sort of "kit" to fit a JRSC (Jackson Racing Super Charger) to a B16 that is mounted in an 88-91 chasis. Here is the link- http://www.hasport.com/Products/Supercharger.htm
