you are in 4th going about 50 mph...you are at 3000 rpms (might not be accurate, but just for example)....so you want to downshift to 3rd gear...if you want to double clutch, you hit the clutch, shift to neutral, let off the clutch, rev match to about 3800 (again, not acurate, but just for example), hit the clutch, downshift to 3rd, let off the clutch (if 3800 is the rev match) and then let off the
clutch....

a double clutch is more or less used for a car with a transmission without synchros...other than that, it's pretty much useless...

Like you said the 1st paragraph is called rev matching not double clutching...

no, Nick H is correct. What he described IS double clutching. You have to rev match DURING double clutching.

rev matching is cool but all double clutch does it wear your clutch and syncros and wasted gas try in a race see if it works for you i makes u feel like your going faster but that's it

It doesnt wear your clutch or your syncros. It actually reduces wear on the blocker rings.

double clutching is not the same as a rev-match downshift....in a rev match, you rev the car with the clutch pedal depress, and the car in gear....a double clutch, as stated above, is more "complex", and you match revs in neutral, not in gear.....downshifting is a smarter way to drive, as you can keep the car in the powerband if you need to make an evasive manuever (as oppsed to letting it coast in gear untill the car about stalls out, or coasting in neutral), and rev matching with the throttle is a HELL of a lot better on the synchros then making the transmission bring the engine to the right revs
