Default Tire Question

I figure you guys get tired of answering the same questions, so here is a new one. (maybe only to me) But i just placed an order on the last tire i needed to complete my set and it is on national back order. (wanted to kill someone).
THe tire was a continental extreme contact 225/40zr18 88w. And since i dont know what the first number means i need help in deciding on whic tire to replace it with.
Well i know it has something to do with the size but will it fit properly and will i be able to see a noticeable difference in the width of the sidewall of the tire.
here are my choices: 235/40zr18 90w or 245/40zr18 93w or 245/45zr18 96w
(right now i have one cheap (18) replacment) so i need the tire bad and soon

first set of number is the width of the tire in milimemters(mm)
heres a handy site to help u deicde the right tire size
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
but if ur not looking fo sotck diameter, remember, larger diameter will increase max speed and sacrifice acceleration and vice versa, but it'll also mess wit ur speedo accuracy and ABS
