Default cleaning wires

my valve cover gasket was leaking, i just replaced it, now i'm wondering what i should use to clean the wires from various sensors. is brake cleaner safe to spray on the wires or can it damage the wire/sensor because it is too strong.

Brake cleaner is pretty caustic and can ruin some plastics. Just spray simple green all over the engine bay and power wash. Scrub lightly on the really dirty spots.
