Check Engine Light...wont go off!!!!
I was trying to do some wiring on my 96 prelude when I accidentally let two wires touch. They shorted and burnt the fuse under the hood for the ABS....the ABS light and the check engine light came on on the dash. When I replaced the fuse...The ABS light went out but I cant get the Engine light out. Anyone have any ideas?? could it be another fuse blown?? I have check all that I know of.
heres what ya do:
first, disconnect your battery for 5-10 minutes, put it back on, and start the car. let it idle for a few minutes, then drive around. See if any lights come on. If they do:
Reach under the dash, behind the radio, on the driver side. you'll find a plug with two wires going into it. (blue clip, brown & blue wire I think)
with the ignition off, stick a paperclip into the end of the clip to jump the circuit.
turn the ignition on, but don't start it.
your CE light will come on, turn off, then start flashing a code.
tell us that code.
we'll go from there
