Default is it possible to fix an offset?

I have a set of gram lights on my prelude but it rubs a little be when i hit a bump in the road. The offset is a little off. It is +40mm i need to have +45mm offset so that they dont rub at all.
Is there any way to get them to fit right? Is it pissible to take the rims somewhere and get them shaved a little from inside? I would really like to fix them becuase I love how they look on my car.

why not? even if i can get it to 42mm it would be good so i would only need to shave 2mm. why is it a bad idea??

there is a reason volk/rays/whatever made the wheel that thick i would think. they are the wheel engineers, i wouldn't question them. you *should* be fine since you're right, it is just a few millimeters... i just don't mess with drilling/grainding wheels.

we shave wheels all the time. we shave the hub about 9mm shave the flange and rim about 3mm and race them on circuit. they havent failed us.
rallying would be different. we do not touch them at all.

You are wrong sir. They made the wheel for that particular offset. I have been running a custom wheel shop for quite some time and we have wheels shaved or drilled all the time. For the type of wheel in question you could shave the wheel, but definitely not more than 5mm. That is the max i would shave a tuner wheel. If you tried to go more, you could compromise the structural integrity of the wheel. If you think you could get away with just shaving 3mm that would be the optimal solution, but i have a feeling that you are probably gonna need all 5mm. Preludes usually take an offesett in the 43-48 range with some exception. If you can give me a little more info on your setup, like your tire size and suspension setup you might be able to keep your wheels intact and change something else.

Sorry, you are not wrong. You just did not provide any sort of knowledge to back up your opinion except that we should not question anything Volk/Rays does because they are some sort of wheel god. I'm not saying that they don't know what they are doing, but when they make the wheels they don't know which vehicle model some is gonna put it on.
