i was coming home from work on the freeway got off at my exit and was going down a road doin about 50 i was downshifting gears to slow down for a redlight when i hear a popping noise right after a downshifted into second about to go into first...so i put it in neutral and just used the brakes to finish the stop, everything seemed fine. light turned green, i turned left accelerated to about 50 in 2nd - shifted to 3rd and everything seemed fine, but i decided to downshift back to 2nd and this time i heard a pop followed by a grind...sounded scary - i immediatly went back to third gear hands at 10 and 2 and ready for anything...nothing else happend for next 3 miles when i arrived at my house..trying to be as specific and detailed as possible but i have no idea..maybe cv joint? please help.

 

I'm not sure about the grind but the pop may be a backfire...

 

hmmmm maybe you werent fully in gear when you let the clutch out? my best guess
