Default Question about AEM install.

Sorry if this has been discussed before...

Anyways installed my AEM...however I got it used so no intructions or anything. Based most of the installation from the NTPOG site. I am just wondering if the Vacuum unit is supposed to be removed? Will it make a difference if its there or not?

Currently I have the Vacuum unit in place but the hose to the ButterFly Valve plugged. I bought a hose to connect from the Valve cover to the intake piping. Everything else is where its supposed to be.

Will my current setup be ok? Do I need to remove the Vacuum unit? Anything else I missed? TIA everyone.

Hrmm I think I understand I bit better now.

I guess my question is...is there any performance difference if the box is in or not?

IMO I couldn't tell any increase in peformance w/ the CAI lol.

all the vacuum box does is get in the way, the AEM mounts where it used to sit and the "butterfly" actuator just dangles there. unless you use some zip-ties those parts could come loose and become lost, which would suck if you wanted to return the car to stock.

BTW there is now performance diff. if the box is on or off. just remember to cap off the golden "nipples" on the intake manifold or you'll get an erratic idle.
