My broke ass transmission
ok as some of you know, my transmission messed up on me the other day. im pretty sure its not the shift fork im leaning towards a shatterter clutch plate. Because when i drive it and toggle the clutch it sounds like some debre is jingling arouns in there, plus it makes all sorts of scraping noises and engages really rough. Dose it sound lik e shattered clutch to you?
Not to highjack the thread but my stock DX tranny has been acting wierd lately. Just today when I shift it into gear and let the clutch in it feels as if it takes awhile for the gear to engage. (basically, after letting in the clutch the car slows and when I push on the gas lightly it takes awhile (second or two) before the car begins to accelerate). It is like the gear takes awhile to get into place and start moving. This even happens when I step on it after letting in the clutch (the clutch does not slip). Any ideas??
Bond, I think the clutch is slipping or it isnt clamping fast or somethin..my clutch is pretty old and it has a similar symptom..let the clutch out and punch it and it doesnt accel for a sec and the rpm's fall slowly.

Just what I figured
. Thanks for the help
. I will be doing a DX to Si tranny swap in a week and will be replacing the clutch and flywheel. This should take care of my problem. Will I be able to feel much of a difference in power when I swap in the Si tranny? I know shorter gears, but will it have more get up and go?
