I am a VW guy and I just picked up a 91 civic. The timing belt went out and it is a 16 motor. I know this kills a VW 16v head, is a civic head the same, so do i need to replace the head or probably the whole engine. Thanks guys and dont bust my ***** to bad.

 

Sometimes you get lucky and don't mangle things, but these engines are interference engines. If you were reving the **** out of it, you likely damaged the valves, but it's impossible to know unless you put a new belt on and do a compression and leakdown test, or pull the head.
