Bird shit on the hood that has become cemented on
It's pretty much like concrete now. I'm a dumbass for not keeping my car cleaner, but anyway, how can I get this off without scraping up my hood?
I used Goof Off for two spots but noticed a bunch of scraping, so tomorrow I'm going to try and buff those scrapes out with wax. I didn't want to do the rest in case these scrapes are permanent. Anyone else know how to deal with this? The stuff is definitely like cement..it's even grey, not the usual white spots.
Ugh help.

I would try wetting the crap as to soften it up and if that doesn't work get out a clay bar and start cleaning. Worst case you will have to replace the hood or get a plastic edge (credit card or DL) and scrape it off and then try the clay bar and or goof off.
Ever try pressured water cleaning? Trying shooting the water at an angle? I use this to clean my car of any crap on my skirts. Good luck
I pressure washed my car yesterday. I don't want to get too close so that I don't pressure wash the paint off.
Anyway, what's a clay bar? The credit card thing is a good idea. Maybe I'll try that this afternoon.

You may want to try using polishing compound (diamond cut 2.0) to remove it.
If it is not aggressive enough, use rubbing compound, then polishing then wax.

Bug & tar remover may help. Put some on it and let it "soak" for a little bit. It should rub off. Bird poop should always be removed asap. Birds do not urinate so they excrete their urea (liquid waste) in uric acid with their poop. It's a highly concentrated urine basically and it's acidic properties tend to eat paint finishes up.
******* birds. I get it off with a bucket of water as fast as I can.
Just keep washing it and it'll come off slowly.

there shud be specially formulated cleaners for ur car just for bird shyt n stuff like that, spray it on, wait til it softens, and then PINCH it off wigth a soft clean towel...never wipe or spray away, bird shyt has rocks in it that will scratch ur paint..or even better, pinch away with ur bare fingers, a lil dirty, but we all love our cars to enuff to get a lil dirty, dunt we? *rubs mud all over ****

Before trying credit cards or other scraping methods, try putting a wet cloth (or a few wet paper towels) on it, and leave it for at least a few hours, possibly overnight. You want the cloth to be soaking wet.
And once you get it off, wash the entire car as good as you can two times, then put on a coat of wax.

a good tip is to take silly putty, and build a dam around the **** pile, then pick at the **** to "perforate it" (without going down to the paint) then pour goof off, or bug and tar remover into the little bowl you just made and let it sit for 5 min, but not tooo long because that **** will eat off the paint.. this should soften up the crapso it can take it off. I had to do this when someone flung concrete off a nearby bldg. and a glop landed on my car except I used meurotic acid (sp) it left a mar but that easily came off with rubbing compound and wax.

i hate it when that happends. i just do what Heat just mentioned. try to take care of asap or it will ended up messing up ur paint just like it did with mine.
pressure washer + organic sponge + soap has taken anything off my car...you just need to rehydrate the droppings first...
FYI: the white **** isnt actually "****", its the birds way of getting rid of nitrogenous wastes, the same way we pee. the black **** is actually ****
