Open Trailer for lowered race car ?
I'm beginging to look for an open trailer and was wondering what everyone on here used/recomended. The car I will be using it for is rather low and using 2x4's everytime can be somewhat of a pain. If anyone knows of a company that makes a trailer that has a liftgate style tail or airbags to lower it down enough so that 2x4s aren't needed please post up details, just looking for a solution, not so much a great deal at this point.
you can get a custom open trailer made to fit your needs.. I had a standard 16ft. open wood trailer with a 4" drop axles which lowerd the trailer with a beaver tail..when all said and done the rear edge of the trailer was oly about 8-10" off the gound.. enough for me to drive my race car straigh up with the front lip sitting about 4" off the ground..

i believe there is a company that goes by the name of "king trailors" i have seen them @ a local dirt oval track, they are LOW RIDER trailors., the wheels are to the out side of the trailor instead of directly underneath it, i bet its about 6inch's or so off the ground. ill see if i can find more info.
Ive used a drag and drop trailor a few times, and My car is a good 2-3 inches off the ground on street tires.
you can pull vettes, vipers, etc.. on it no problem.
the Rear axle slides forward on the bed of the trailor and it basically drops the entire rear of the trailor down. the entire trailor becomes a Ramp at that point, you pull the car up on it, and Drive the truck forward and it Recenters the wheels.
Works really well and surpisringly easy to operate.

im using a 24ft carmate trailer. if u pull the rear wheels of the truck up onto ramps (liek to change oil on or whatever....) then it lowers the *** of the trailer plus the ramps i use are around 7feet long. It works really good. My car goes on smoothly car sets on 25 8.7 13s and fender is about 1/2 above tire.

Any idea how much a trailer like that costs? My dad and I are looking to get one and we'd need to be able to use it with my Civic and a 1980 Vette that's pretty close to the ground up front.
