Default car will not start

a friend of mine took off his distributor too clean it because it had some oil on it and just took off the cap thats it then put it alll back together and now the car will not start i all ready checked the plugs fireing is correct and i am getting spark so what else would not make it not want too start could it be the timming since i took off the dis , because the car ran before he took it off so can some body please help me out please

Let's see. The car WAS working fine. You removed the distributor, put it back, and now it won't start. You say you ARE getting spark. Right?

Yeah, I'd check the timing next -- you may have disturbed it when you removed the distributor.
