Default How to remove brake booster on 92 prelude?

everything is unbolted, i removed the m/c from the booster, and the booster doesnt have enough clearance to get out. somebody told me i have to remove the intake manifold to slide the booster out. any ideas? i dont know the technical names, but the part of the booster that connects to the brake pedal hits the firewall when i try to remove it.

I was able to get mine out by removing the top part of the IM, not the whole thing. What a ******* PITA, though.....

so the only way to remove the booster is to take out part of the IM? has anybody gotten it out without removing the IM?

I was just wondering why you're taking the brake booster out? I'm having problems with mine (major high pitched whistling when I push on the brake pedal either at an idle or when driving) and am hesitant to replace it because all the quotes I've gotten are around $400. Everyone I've talked to said they can't be fixed, only replaced. Is it necessary to have it or what? I've got a 99 so I don't know if there's a big difference or what. maybe you can help since you're dealing w/yours too.

when i bought the car, it had no brake pressure at all. i think it was leaking between the mc and booster. i bought a mc/booster from preludeserge, and he said it takes all but 15 minutes to install the bb. hmm, thats right, i didnt even think of the obvious. if i put the bb back on and just replaced the mc, bleed my brakes, will my pressure come back? is it bad to separate the booster and mc? cause is it sealed or just a gasket? preludeserge said that its better to have a mc/booster thats never been separated i think
