Default Powerful brakes

I know that honda has less powerful brakes than others,(Nissan). Is it possible to upgrade the caliper, which has two pistons ? will this make the breaks more powerful than current. Or what is the other way of doing this ? please advise.
2003 civic ex manual.

All you need are:

1. Better tires (this makes the biggest difference in stoping distance)
2. Better Pads (these keep the brakes from fading or becoming warped)
3. Better Fluid (boils at a higher temperature & prevents fade)
4. Stainless Steel Brake Lines (more responsive pedal feel)

If you get bigger calipers up front (measured by piston size), you will bias your brake system more towards the front. This causes the rear tires to do less work than they are capable. When that happens, you will experience longer stopping distances. Larger rotors will also create more forward brake bias, but this effect can be corrected by combining them with a smaller caliper piston. This is what most aftermarket "Big Brake" kits do (ie: Stoptech, Brembo, Willwood). Larger rotors with smaller "multi piston" calipers...

For all the Brake information your brain could ever handle, go to StopTech.com & search through their "Technical" & "FAQ" sections. You will be amazed at how technical your braking system can get. Its really good stuff to know if your planning on moding your car though...

If you havent been already hit up http://www.7thgencivic.com they have a whole fourm dedicated to the question you just asked. The best brake upgrade hands down for a 7th gen civic is the rear disc swap. You can pull the rear knuckles off of a si/sir or a canadian acura el. I did this swap and changed out the front pads and discs and felt a large improvement in brake performance. My stainless lines go on this spring.
