Default 1999 GS Automatic Slams Gears?

Well its not my car but my moms and for some reason eventhough the car is at operating temperatures, when you take off( its an automatic) when it goes to change in from the first gear to the next it slams into gear like someone is trying to powershift a manual. I changed the tranny fluid and added an anti-slip from Lucas but still no help. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be. Thanks in advance.

My auto is a bit hard on the gears, too, unless it shifts below 3.5k. I figured it was normal.

Transmission is going out. Samething happen to my sister's Accord. It will hesistate before chaning to second gear, turn out the tranny was on it's way out. Changing the fluid isn't going to help, you will need a new tranny or rebuilt.

hhmm I have a 97 GS and compared to some other cars I think it goes into gear pretty hard unless I take off super slow. I have about 140,000 miles on mine and I switch gears alot

my 94 does the same thing and it has 260,000 original miles on the tranny with no rebuild and it slips a little when its cold but it still works. Just keep dirving it untill it drops, thats what i'm doing.
