Default Comparing 4th and 5th gen exhaust routings

I'm curious if anyone here has tried yo use a catback system
from a 5th gen on a 4th gen or vise versa.

I'm looking into getting a catback system for my 4th gen
that came off of a 5th gen SH.

Anybody have experience in this field?

Thx 4 the input

it may fit PRETTY CLOSE, but the extra cat on a 5th gen will result in the flange being in a different place.

I remember reading on here a few days ago that the 5th Gen and 4th Gen were alike and if you used a 5th gen header and the 5th gen exhaust it would fit on a 4th gen.

hmm, I wonder if an aftermarket cat would fix the situation.

here's a look at both stock exhaust setups

The differences is like 9.25"or maybe 7.25" I can't exactly remember, but I put greddy headers for a 4thgen on a 5th gen back before 5th gens had a lot of options. All I did was lengthen the pipe right after the collector, and it fit perfect. As for the exhuast I would assume it is the same thing. You could use 5th gen header AND exhaust on a 4th gen, or vice versa. If you mix and match, pipes will need to be cut or extended to proper length. Only thing I am unsure of is if the mounts are the same.

the 5th gen SH exhaust is a different legenth then the Base, due to the damn atts system. Also, im not sure on the exact angles and what not of the curves. It looks like it may be real close. looks like all the hangers are in the right places n stuff. Grab one and give it a go. If anything it may turn out to be to short.

i put a 5th gen exhaust on my 4th gen and the 5th gen exhaust is about six inches longer, but both exhaust have the same bends.

I bought an exhaust for my 5th Gen off a guy that had a 4th Gen and all the bends were the same. I had to relocate one of the hangers, but that was cake. The only other problem I ran into was after the cat. The B-pipe that connects to the cat and the muffler was too short. Had to weld in a piece of pipe a little less than 10". Other than that, bolted right up. Wasn't that much of a hassle. But for a $200 Thermal exhaust it was worth it.
