Default Dead spot when turning right....Steering column?

When making right turns i have about a 2inch dead spot before my cars turns (left turns ar ok), and the wheel doesn't come back all the way after turning. Its kind of scary on the freeway. I have replaced my rack, and checked all my bushings and tie rod ends, still good.

Could this problem come from the steering column?
How can you tell if the column is bad?

Alignment?

Hm...I'd pull the plastic away from the underside of the dash and have a look at the column at least. If you replaced the rack then something else must be wrong. There's a pinch bolt down by the floor behind the pedals that helps secure the rack to the column.....maybe it's loose?
