Default Special Head Gaskets?

Did Honda make special head gaskets for those that leaked or were blown?

Supposively when i called Honda, they told me they make this special gasket that's designed for leaking heads or blown heads. It's 50 dollar difference...
The gasket set is 200 bucks where the regular head gasket sets like 150?

Anyways, I was thinking the "special" gasket would be the y8 head gasket insted? Considering it has multiple layers and is made outta a metal?

BTW, This is going into a d15b7 92'

well, there was a service bulletin regarding your car....the 88-95 SOHC Civics/Del SOls with non vtec head. They all used a composite style head gasket, while the VTEC engines used the MLS gasket.

THere is a parts update, but it still uses the composite style. If I were you, get a D16Z6 or Y8 gasket s it is MLS and isn't as prone to leakage if installed crrectly

werd...that's exactally what i was thinking...must have been a defect in these of some sort for them to have a "special" gasket for it...im thinking the y8 is the way to go...considering it's made with better materials. Hmm...interesting stuff...
