Default Motor Mounts Un-install

Alright well I got some inserts that I'm gonna put it and I got the front off fine, and the driver side is out and fine, haven't tried the rear yet because I am stuck on the passenger side one.

How do you guys get bolt #24 off? The mount is block that nut.

Alright I got that bolt off, just had to put my extension at a wierd angle.

Anyways it's still isn't coming off. Do I need to take the 3 bolts that hold it onto the tranny? It's 10pm and I don't have a 17 deep socket Would like to finish it tonight but if I can't then haha that sucks. Anyways the 3 bolts I'm talking about at #19

pretty sure you need to remove the upper timing cover to get to the bolt to get it off. not 100% positive

I think your a bit off, kinda on the wrong side of the engine,

If the #24 your talking about is the one on the tranny mount, you might have to take the mount out to get at it if you cant get to it while its bolted in.

I mean like maybe unbolt the mount from the frame and drop the trannyside down a bit to get more room

Btw, waht kinda kit did u fine that has side mount inserts too?

When I changed my clutch and flywheel I had to remove the entire mount because you really can't separate the 2 pieces with it in the car. So, yeah, take off those 3 #19 nuts...

I'm wondering about the side mount inserts too. I don't even know of anyone who makes them because the sides are not torque positions so inserts are pretty pointless.

Well looks like I have to wait till tommrow. Well I'm using the ES front and rear mount. As for the sides I'm bought a urethane casting compound.

Ordered the a urethane mix from http://www.mcmaster.com/
part # 8644K11

I figure while I am putting ES ones in, might as well do the sides

Interesting, so with this mix you can cast your own urethane bushings? Have you used this stuff before?

Yeah sorta- We did the same thing to my friends Del Sol, but did the casting in all 4 mounts. Works pretty well

True that. I paid 300 bucks for some PlaceRacing side mounts and they did nothing(well very little) to curb my engine movement. It's not the product themselves They are a good solid mount, but They dont do much work.

the side mounts jsut hold the engine up. i usually fill them when they break...which is usually after the front and rear go out.
