Nothing will happen unless you went from like 3rd to 2nd and revved to 9500. Otherwise goin to reldine on a stock motor, there is no problem. Im like 1fastGSR, i bring mine to redline almost everyday. Its addicting, i need to hear my motor scream everyday

Don't buy a gsr if your not going to redline it and hear the beautiful sound of V-tec! You should have bought a GS if your not going to redline it. IMHO

I redline my car all the time, integra's love it. They wouldent put VTEC in it if you were not sopposed to rev it.

i redline my car everyday also. I know it isn't good but that GSR engine just sings! I usually put my Volvo 1,000 RPMs over redline whenever I start it.

all i ever did to maintain the 92 gsr was oil change every 3k, valve adjustment, and i changed the timing belt water pump combo at 90k and 180k nothing else ever went wrong the whole time... distruator one time at 120k

Redline the sucka! It's MADE to rev and be rev'd high.

My friend has a 2000 Prelude SH, and he REALLY babies his car. He doesn't hit Vtec at ALL! He shifts at 3000rpm in every gear. Never passes it.

BIG mistake. I drove it before, and it feels very sluggish. And when I hit VTEC in his car, it wasn't as agressive as I expected to be. You need to train your engine, and loosen it up, so that it won't rust. Now his Prelude is much weaker than other Prelude's...

I drive my GS-R on weekends only, but I redline it alot. Runs quick and strong!

heh.. EVERY SINGLE TIME I drive my car, the shift light goes off in at least 1st and 2nd gear, 3rd and 4th if a freeway is ever involved..

I usually put my Volvo 1,000 RPMs over redline whenever I start it.
i just about died when i read this.. good ^&*%

Absolutely not.. If u had myself or anybody else like me in your car, you would have gotten praise.. A week later, you'd be doing it so much, I'd have to tell u to stop doing it so fkn much.. (true story)

poo poo don't worry at all. I have a GS and rediline it everyday and it has 83K on it and hasn't failed me yet. Just make sure you change oil regularly if you use VTEC alot because VTEC burns more oil than driving normal. But you should at lest hit redline 5 times a day. Keeps the mechanics away!

Well, Honestly... It is not good to hit the factory rev limiter. One time won't hurt, but many times is bad. The factory rev limiter cuts fuel, and no fuel is bad.

I do agree with the others on this board as far as driving the car hard, my GSR loves it... I hit 8500 frequently (no rev limiter)...
