Pics of my F22a with darton Midsleeved and fully built for boost.
Heres some pics of my F22a1 block, with darton mid sleeves. Stock F22a1 crankshaft, Crower billet rods, Wisceco Extreme Duty forged 8.8:1 pistons. It is installed right now in my accord, but i'm still waiting on my head parts so the head is not on yet. My car should be running within the next few weeks. The 2nd link is pics of my intercooler mounted. I'll post some dyno/ 1/4 mile stuff up here soon.

The reason most people say to search is because they actually can't answer the question and they see some of the more seasoned members saying that because we have answered the same questions for years and we are tired of seeing them. I try to answer anything I can, but sometimes I am a little harsh on people.

i totally understand what your saying because this board has tons of info on it, but sometimes when theres one person that will do the search for them, and then 0934712 other members will post a stupid pic about ssearching for them, or yelling at them for being a noob, it just doesnt really make the forum that appealing

Well this isn't '01 anymore and I think you need to accept H-T the way it is because there are so many stupid people (in the world) these days that trying to 'fix' H-T is a losing battle. If everyone is so tired of seeing the same questions why get on here at all? There are only so many 'legit' questions that can be asked and I'm sure they all have at some point. So let's ban new posts altogether.
What never ceases to amaze me is why y'all always post in worthless threads just to say how worthless they are. If its worthless or should have been searched, just let it drop to the bottom. Everyone insists on flaming for not searching. Honestly why get on here at all if that's your mindset?

I agree with Redneck Dave and loved the golden age of H-T when sophisticated car discussions took place on these forums...believe it or not, the accord forum hosted some of the most technical debates and arguments on this entire site back in the day...now it seems to be a bunch of people bickering and arguing over pointless oppinionated matters...i now lurk here a lot, and try to help when possible, but it's hard to put up with half of the **** on this board anymore...

i was having fun running 17psi on my stock F23. wasn't possible without the AEM EMS..... this was 12 months worth of me street tuning my car. i learned alot with the ems. a built block would have been so nice. that was on a drag kit n stock block, my next setup is gonna be a bigger turbo and a built block. since u have a block like that, i'd personally run alot of boost, i mean like 25psi or something lil higher. next on the list is a 3in full exhaust, Kteller got some bad setups. post them dyno results and them track numbers.

For the time being, the car is going to be out of control on the stock suspension. I plan to get some full coilovers... i have 24.5" tall slicks already. The AEM EMS i have a traction control built into it, so i will be using that.
As for the intercooler, it is the same intercooler that you would get if you bought a turbonetics single turbo kit for a supra or mustang. i talked to a guy using the same one on his mustang and he dyno'd 800whp. So i dont doubt the 720hp it is rated for. The core on the i/c is 3.5" thick. Most people dont know, but intercoolers with the endtanks on the top/bottom are better then the side to side endtanks. Its all about the # of i/c rows you have, not the length of the rows.
I will definatly have a video of it running at the track.
Heres some more pics of my ride, and the engine/trans installed, and a few random car pics. Enjoy

I'm not trying to bash, it's just common knowledge that SOHC + NON-VTEC = NO POWER
but it will be interesting to see what this motor can make.

Hahaha, thats funny. I guess i'm the one to break the F22 400hp mark.
Type in any search 60-1 turbo dyno, and tell me what you find. The 60-1 puts ou the #'s. I also have a full Nitrous Express setup...which i plan to use.
As for Sohc, non-vtec..... Yeah, a DOHC may make 5 more HP then a SOHC, but Vtec is a bunch of bullshit. The camshaft i am using is bigger then most Vtec cam lobes.... Vtec does not make a car faster. All vtec is, is the power of a big cam, with the idle of a small cam. People need to get that straight. My car had a very lopey idle with the cam i'm using, and thats why honda made vtec. So their cars dont have lopey idles, but still put out the #'s.
I've been building domestic drag cars for years. And they only use one camshaft, yet we manage to pump out tons of HP N/A. The engine i am currently building is a 434 ci SBC. N/A with the heads we are using it should be making around 800-900HP. Plus we built this badboy for nitrous.... But that HP is due to one thing. The heads. With the previous heads on that motor is would only make around 600HP N/A. All your HP is in how much the heads flow, not ******* Vtec, or twin cams, They dont make a 200+hp difference.
I talked to a guy name Biso at some import event last year. He is using a sleeved F22a, with 14.5:1 c/r, and completely stock valves/springs. He revs it to 9000rpm and makes over 400HP NA. And he does not have oil squirters that the H22 has. How many 1.6 and 1.8 liter Vtec cars make 400HP NA? None.
I work for Honda, and i am an ASE certifed Master Tech.
I have compared a lot of honda engines. And one thing is for sure. The F22a, F22b, H23, and H22 are the ******* identical bottom ends. The H22/H23 have and extra pair of oil drains, but that is the only difference. The F22a, F22b, and H23 use the same crankshaft, and the H22 crank drops right in any of these. The only reason the H22 makes more power then these from the factory is the fact that the head flows better, the cam is bigger, and it revs higher.
So, you port a head up, install some bigger valves, and put in a bigger cam. And what do you get? A SOHC non-vtec that makes the power of a DOHC vtec. A long time ago, i ran my car NA at the track. It was an F22a, automatic. I had a lot of bolt ons, and some minor headwork. Guess what that 17 second car ran a 15.5. With a 50shot on that setup i ran a 14.5...
Then i was boosting and using nitrous, and the car was a rocket.
All i'm trying to get at is one thing.
DOHC vs. SOHC is only a few HP difference. All your HP is in how much air the head can flow.
I can guarantee with 20psi i will be running low 11's. I think if i can get it to hookup, with 24psi and a 35shot of nitrous it will definatly run in the 10's. The only thing is i may need to get rid of my streetdisc and get a 6 puck. It only takes about 3 hours to change clutch's so i figure i'll try the streetdisc for now. I ******* hate puck clutchs on the street. They are a pain in the ***.

One thing i forgot to add, is TUNING...
My friends 347 mustang ran a 12.6 N/A with the stock computer, calibrated AFM and larger injectors. He bought a standalone system called "Tweeker". I spent a few weeks tuning that bitch with my laptop, and guess what. That car now runs 11's!!! And that "Tweeker" system is not user friendly at all.
How many F22's out there have an AEM EMS with wideband? Without it i would not be capable at all to run 850cc injectors, and properly tune it. Hondata works good, but it is a pain in the ***. The EMS is very user friendly and has tons and tons of tuning capabilties. Without the EMS this project would not be possible. It would take me a long time to get it running good with Hondata, since you have to constantly burn chips... With the EMS, any changes you make while you are communicating with the ECU are immediatly made. You dont even have to stop the car.

If your only running a little 60-1 then your definetely going to need to bottle to run 10's. That thing is tiny. The nitrous is a good idea and i'm all about that. But running 10's?? come on now. Look at the oaks racing prelude. I'm mean ****, that's a fully sponsered drag car/ with the power and suspension to run 10's all day but they still haven't done it yet. and you think you can just build up an f22, and throw a little *** 60-1 on it, spray a little nitrous and run 10's?? i'll believe it when you post a timeslip. But i wish you good luck, you seem to know what your talking about and seem like you have it all figured out. But things don't always go how you planned.
And if you think that the f22 is just as good as the h22, then why hasn't someone swapped one into a civic hatch yet?? The f22 uses the same motor mount kit that the h-series does, it's so easy yet nobody has done it. I think your up in the clouds with your whole "f-series is just as good as H-series".
When you get some dyno's and timeslips you can create your very own thread just laughing at me and how wrong i am, but for now you have nothing but what you think the motor and car can do. Prove it! Get that thing toghether an running cuz i can't wait to see the results.
So until then, Good Luck
