I've got a 1987 accord LX and I'm needing to replace the heater core. My dad says that he just cut into the side of the plastic in the passenger side of his volkswagen fox, and was able to just pull it out like that, and saved about 4-5 hours work tearing apart the dash. I'm wondering if I am able to do that here. If not are there any quick short cuts that I could take? I don't need my car to look pretty afterwards I just want heat.

 

well, in these cars, you can't avoid taking your dash out to get at the heater core... doesn't bother me, as i can remove a dash in about 20 minutes in one of these cars... it's not that hard of an ordeal, but a repair manual really helps out...
