Default Feels and sound like Thumper is on the otherside of my firewall/floorboard

Hey guys, I rarely post questions on this board. Of course after trying a search and not quite finding threads that match my question well enough, I'll create a thread.

Ok, here it is.

A week ago, I had a problem with my MAP sensor, wire broke. My car wouldn't rev past 2k RPM, and being that I was on the side of the freeway, and not wanting to have my hood open for the local law to come by and "help" only to find a crimial with an non-BARed engine, I drove it to the next off-ramp and got off the freeway. Back to the part about not being able to rev-past 2k RPM. Anyways...everytime I got up to 2k, the thing would stutter like I had wheel hop. No problem, got the car home, re-soldered the wire, car ran fine.

Until a couple of days ago.

I started noticing that anytime I went over any bumps on the road at low speeds, I would HEAR and FEEL a "THUMP" coming from the front left part of my car. I especially notice it when I'm shifting gears and have my foot down on the clutch pedal. I've tried retorquing the bolts on the LCA, UCA, sway bar, and lug nuts. Tried switching the two front tires, still does the same thing. What I did notice though, is that when I wiggled the passenger side axle, there was not much play, it was firm. When I wiggled the driver side axle, there was a little more play in that it would wiggle a little.

The thumping noise only happens at low speeds...right now. I also noticed that driving down the freeway, the car has a slight tendency to want to wander towards the left. Not crazy jerk to the left, just veers left.

Has anyone ever had a similar experience that might be able to point me in the right direction as to what to take a look at? Hell, any crazy auto-cross gurus or mechanics know what the problem is and can just tell me how to go about fixing it?

Any thoughtful responses are greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Thumps.. err, could be the lower ball thingy, forgot the name.. or the most outer side of the axle..

Damn should pick up an English mechanics book again..

Do you have any pulling? Does the sound worsen when you are turning?

Sound isn't necessarily there when I turn, only if I'm going over uneven surfaces when I turn.

As for pulling...I notice that my car likes to veer to the left slightly when I'm on the freeway going over 50 MPH. I was thinking that was probably due to alignment being off though after having rotated my tires.

Outer most side of the axle? Starting to sound like a really bad nightmare
