My car has been sitting for about a year and i went to go started and it wouldn't start. i tried a few more time then left it alone for about a day. Came back the next day and it started first try. next morning tried and it wouldn't start. The car cranks but just does not want to start. I checked plugs and wires and there seems to be fuel coming through the system cause i can hear the pump priming when i start. I tried starter fluid but the car still wouldn't start so i'm guessing there is not spark which means that it could be the coil or the ignitor right? sorry for the long post but i want to get this figured out.

 

it is most likely the ignitor, same thing happend with my civic. Check if you have spark first, then check the resitance on the coil to see if it is all good. But your prolly gonna have to buy a new ignitor which isn't cheap, i bought a whole new dizzy on ebay from some distributorking.com. $200 shipped overnight, and a 3 year warranty, with no core charge.

my dizzy is somewhat new but if all i need is the ignitor then that shouldn't be that expensive.

well seems that i fuct myself. when attempting to take off the distributor cap the bottom srew snapped leaving half of it inside. any suggestions on what i should do now.
