scaping sound, not brakes!
I took my car out for the first time after winter 2 days ago, and everything was fine, then yesterday right before I got home, out of nowhere this loud sceeching noise started when I wasnt braking, I tried braking to see if it made a difference but it didnt. im not too sure what the hell it is, but it sounds like the brakes, but its not. its alot louder then ive ever heard with brakes.. Any Ideas?
I had the same problem on my 6th gen accord. What you need to do is get some new rotors. I did that and the problem was solve instantly. I also changed my brake pads at the same time.

ya, I just replaced rotors and pads not too long ago, im sure it has nothing to do with the brakes, could it be a blown bearing..? ...again.!

What pads are you using?
How many miles?
With some aftermarket pads you will hear a metal grinding noise for a while before it disappears i.e. PBR/AXXIS Metal.

Im using Green stuff pads and brembo OE rotors, ive only put 4000Km on them, its not a belt because it doesnt change at all when I rev it up, just when I start moving. doesnt make a difference if im braking or not, just when im moving. any other ideas?

Stones in the wheels?
Yeah... like crack cocaine *****!
My boy David with the impreza had some noises coming from his wheel at low speeds and found a small stone inside the wheel rotating assembly...
but in this case, with the 'screeching,' I still bet it is a loose belt.
