Default Dynoed the EM1

This is the best of 2 pulls. I have vids of the pulls too but no one to host them for me. If you click on the link in my sig you can see pics and mods list for my EM1 Si. I was really surprised at how flat my tq curve was minus the VTEC spike! Not bad for 10.6:1 CR and stock B16A2 cams/throttle body/intake manifold. I have these skunk 2 stage 2 cams/cam gears, Spoon 2 layer head gasket sitting in my room right now. Ill be milling the head and running those on 11.5:1 compression.

So those cams alone are gonna add the 30 hp you were hoping for.. And yeah that's a nice flat torque curve making at best 15 more ft lbs of torque then a stock 2.0 liter jetta. Impressive.

How much hp did that brake fluid mod add? With all the money I'm sure you put into that car, you could be making much more.

all i did was copy and paste my mods list, why bother to weed out non power adders? Im lazy, so deal with it.

and durrrr, of course I could make more power. If I wanted to do that I would have gone turbo. Instead I was going for turn key reliability first, performance second. and thats exactly what I have.

So basically, Im currently making the same power as a stock B18C5 (@ 15% drive train loss, Im at ~195BHP) with stock B16A2 cams and an inferior flowing head.

Plus, its just about as reliable as a factory stock ITR as well.

I think this build is working out perfectly.

since the head is inferior why did you put money into it in the first place

Because it was FREE, Einstein. I pulled it off of my old, dead engine.

And no. I dont think just the cams are going to get me 30WHP. The higher compression, head work, cams, intake manifold, throttle body and wide-band/dyno tuning will get me pretty close, however.

so the 3 angle valve job, Omni Power valve springs & titanium retainers and the milling of the head that you are going to have done are also free.

milling is 15 bucks, the 3 angle valvejob was 30, the valve train cost me 80 bucks. Wow, I broke the bank.

i think this dude is referring to, " you have a b18c5 motor those have 200hp(195) ha u hope those cams give u 30hp to make up for a real type r?" the type r has what, 160 whp stock? i dont see the big deal here? maybe joe has a crx?? 170 whp makes for a damn fast crx. not to mention he doesnt even have a type r head on it and is pushing like the same crank hp as the type r. anyway i say ...atleast he can show what he has while u ride ur honda scooter around town. LOL even better, he comes in here talking **** with 8 posts...HAHA...i thoguth i knew alot about honda's too which i did, but i didnt realize there was so much to learn! i learn something new everyday on this site.

You should really put your "facts" into english so I can understand what you're talking about, and there is a link to my honda scooter in my signature.

don't forget. This dyno graph is using the STD correction factor. SAE numbers probably would have yielded 5-10 WHP lower than these numbers. So, it puts them back to something a little more realistic.
