Wow, only $2k. I'd say its worth it. Just do the normal compression test on the engine to see if it's still running strong. Auto tranny will probably go... auto to manual swap time?

Damn, only 2K for the car. I'd buy it just cause of the price. Kinda sucks its an Automatic though. You could buy it, sell for parts, and make a huge profit

Yes, tranny issuse...and with 276 thousand miles, I'm sure there are some problems.

If it were me, I'd buy it, and then swap the auto tranny to a 5 speed.

hmm... if you think about it guys, he'll be about $5k into the hole after the tranny swap, but he's still got a car with 276k on the suspension, motor etc. Might be kind of risky.... as soon as he has to start replacing **** it might really kill the deal and turn into a money pit...

Tranny swap etc. aside, i guess it all depends on how the car runs/drives/looks after that many miles... Definately worth a look though, if he's had a lot of stuff replaced already it might be an alright deal

I think i've seen some 5th gens go for around 7k with much lower mileage....

sounds like its time for an insurance job...lol, im just kidding, but with such high mileage i dont think replacing parts is super wise, most of the other parts on the car might start to go themselves, and as stated above you have yourself a money pit. If you can get the parts at a discount or at super low cost i would pursue the option. Either that, or i would just drive the car til it craps out and sell it as a rolling shell to some ricer.

buy it, drop jdm 5speed, spend the rest on a turbo or let me buy it for 2k and part it for money

do you have a pic of the car, i think with some pics of the car it would be easier to make a judgement on whether or not its wise to spend 2 grand

If money isnt a problem you could buy the car and do a full JDM swap and drop in a new engine and transmission for roughly 5-6k. You'll have yourself a practically new car with an older body/suspension. After that you can renew the other parts on the car. If not, I agree with most others, the car may soon turn out to be a real money-pit.

yea, if its meticulous, then yea, you'd be crazy not to buy it. Just remember, when you drive the car, run the A/C, see how badly it lags, then on top of that when your driving, make sure you drive it aggressively, just to see what it can handle.

I would check anything made of rubber. Suspension bushings, hoses, belts, weather seals.

And if it has been meticulously maintained ask for reciepts.

Buy it for 2k.

drive that biatch into the ground and save for a whole new clip.

forget auto swapping...i mean seriously...2k for car....6k (very high ammount) for new h22+5spd tranny and work=8k for a prelude with a really nice interior and exterior and 0 miles.

sounds good to me.
