Default Spoon Header (w/extensive dyno testing) Results in 10hp Gain on B18C5 Engines

This is according to www.spoonsports.ca. So I throw out this question to all the Spoon experts, especially IPS, R&D, and AJ-Racing.

What were the conditions in the extensive dyno testing that netted gains of what I assume to be 10hp to the wheels? I have one of these headers on the way along with a hi-flow cat and I want to know if I'm going to have to break the bank to get 10whp out of the header.

I think the results came from The Great Header Test. I know for sure that the top two Headers were Spoon and Toda.

I can't say for the Spoon header, but according DC Sport their USDM header gained 15hp on a stock Civic.

In the header test, none of the header gained 10hp with the header alone.

I'll tell you what Mike "typeRmsm" told me about 6 months ago when I waited a little longer than expected for mine to be delivered.

"You'll be satisfied."

Thats it, no more no less. No big fan fare, no BS and silly claims. When you get it all done, I expect a post for your opinion so we can exchange notes.

Between the intake and header, you'll definately notice the header more than the intake.

A.

Spoon header is good stuff. But I doubt that the header alone will give you 10hp on a stock TypeR.

Also, if you have lower your car more than 1.5", BECAREFUL!! I dented my Spoon header already!! But may be the header sit lower on a DelSol than a TypeR, oh well.

This is exactly my point. What conditions were in place for Spoon to lay this claim down about their header? I'm not knocking on Spoon. I just want to know the subtance behind the power claim.

I figure it was with basic bolt on's. Intake, exhaust, test pipe or hi flow cat and probably timing changes for the best performance.

yep, anton is correct. you know the spoon make more power if it pulls antons fatass any faster....... j/k anton. at least since i am going bald, i will only go faster due to less wind resistance...
