HELP!!! My Teg died on me today
I want to give as many details as possible so:
2000 Integra GSR with 45k miles
Today while driving my gas light went on so I figured I had like 50 miles to go. After driving for 15 minutes I pulled over to drop off a friend and all of a sudden my car dies.
The car turned but I felt maybe it ran out of gas.
Fast forward:
After putting a gallon of gas in I turned the car on but the idle was well below 1000 rpm’s and kept dying (I thought maybe just needs some time for gas to get there). I got it on and kept my food on the gas. By the time I got the gas station (1mile) the car seemed fine. Filled her up and was on my way.
About 4-5 miles on the highway my tach dropped suddenly from 4000 to below 1000 rpm’s then quickly got back up to 3500 then dropped all the way and the car died. After a few tried I got it on but the rpm’s were almost half of idle and I touched the gas but no response and eventually died. Tried a few times with same result…
Then I tried to turn and it made a weird clicking noise (kinda sounds like a machine gun) And that’s all it does now and I can't even get it on.
It's @ my mechanic now but he's closed till Monday and I'm afraid something serious may have happened or I made it worse.
Has anyone ran into something like this?

well that clicking sound u described while trying too turn on the car is most likely just a dead battery.... as for the fuel problem..maybe u messed up your fuel pump after your car died after u ran out of fuel and u tried turning the car over...only one way too find out for sure tho on that one..monday
I know not much at all about fixing cars but this clicking noise is like nothing I've heard... hope I didn't burn my starter in the process of turning too hard
