remove main gauge assembly w/o disabling SRS?
hey I got one of the main gauge assembly 3w bulbs out in 7g rpm range on my 4G lude (not the best place to have it out, and it bugs me everytime i drive at night). I've dismantled my dash before for the sub gauge assembly (ie: the one with all the caution lights) but not on the driver side... reading thru the helms there is some disclaimers about SRS and disabling it - do you really have to do that to get to the main gauge assembly? i'd hate to take an airbag to the face while holding a screwdriver if you know what I mean? or is it pretty straight forward if your just changing bulbs?
can any knowledgeable folks offer some insight?
cheers

nevermind - I successfully changed the bulb without disabling the SRS - I just didn't unplug the yellow connector at the back - only the two green ones on the sides of the unit, and i was able to swivel it around on the dash and f**k with the bulbs. If anyone can shed some light on the yellow connector tho it would be appreciated (can you unplug it without getting an airbag to the face? - i think so because i think it's just the power for the SRS warning led? but I didn't have ***** large enough to pull it for ***** and giggles)...
now my redline is all shiney and lit up and red again, which is sweet. too bad it's still the redline for my old block tho ): and in Miles instead of kilometers (altho i plan for that to be my excuse for my first speeding ticket) - is it possible to get a vtec, 4ws cluster in KM? probably only from japan eh?

just unplug your battery, the air bag can't go off without power.. most of those warning are for the idiots that cut wires and rip stuff out.. the writers don't wanna be held responsable for not warning you.. its perfectly fine to unplug the air bags
