Default tires fit on wheel?

i can't find the answer even though it is a simple question....will any 16" tire fit on any 16" rim? for ex. will 205/50/15, fit on 15x6, 15x6.5, and 15x7 rims? obviously they won't fit on something like 15x12 wheels, i was just wondering what the cuttoff point was.

its usually about an inch in either direction from what the tire manufacturer recomends for the tire.

Like the new Falkens, the tire I'm getting is recomended for 6.5" rims, but the approved rim rate is 5.5"-7.5"

depends. the range varies for diff size tires. Best thing to do is go to the manufacturers website and look at the specs it should tell you what size rim can be used.........my falken rt 615 in 205/40/17 is approved for 7.0-8.0in wide rim.
