i cant keep 2 cars at the house, so driving a beater to work, wouldnt be an option

the beater would only be an option for winter, because i can store the R

i cant have more than 1 car at the house at once, and there is no bending of that rule

some more recommendations guys

If you can affort to buy a new car to replace the R , add a cheaper beater is more common sense!

Pretty sure if the area is known for high theft they wouldn't pass up any of these cars either.

Keep/store the R for weekend. (Rent a garage)

Buy a $5,000 Civic HX. These get great gas mileage & easy to work on.

I would've recommended a Toyota Prius for a new car, but after test-driving one today I'm not gonna recommend it to any car guys. Prius = Buick Park Avenue that gest 60mpg. blah!

Wow, amazingly I've driven all of the cars that you mentioned lol. I guess I could give my feedback on those.

Accord: To put it simple, it drives like a chick car. It cannot match up to the R in any way. I guess it's somewhat of a "more refined" economical coupe, I'm not into raw acceleration but to my butt dyno the R feels quicker regardless of actual 1/4 mi. times.

TL: Not bad. The manual version has Brembos and LSD. But it feels like driving a boat around because of its large size though. The options it comes with is nice for a middle-aged guy. I do like the surround sound system though

STi: The beauty of AWD. I'd would definitely consider replacing the R with this car. FAST, even with mild throttling it throws your back into the seat. Subies are generally well-known to have good reliability. Boxer engine= better balance when cornering. And as for the sporty look, damn just look at the wing it's larger than the R lol; how can that NOT be sporty? In terms of handling it handles exceptionally well.

RX-8: This car feels similar in acceleration to the R. It handles just as well as the R if not possibly better than a stock R. The traction control is pretty refined and it doesn't make me nervous when cornering hard. Plus you get the awesome vaccuum cleaner/rotary sound at high rpms, it's unique.

S2000: Raw. As raw as the R is, but even better. Plus you have the option of dropping the top for those nice days In terms of handling it's like driving a RWD R but faster.

Evo MR: It's like the STi but understeers even less. I wouldn't say it accelerates any faster than the STi however, they feel about the same to me. But nevertheless a beautiful and exceptionally well-designed car in every single way. I'd actually perfer this over the US STi because the US won't ever get the STi 203 > MR.

I would agree with every single points that RisforTypeR said except that the TL is actually very quick. It does not feel like driving a boat at all if you are talking about a manual TL. I've seen a video of a TL (forgot if it was a manual or automatic) vs. a NSX. The TL did not do bad at all comparing to the NSX.

BTW, my personal prefernece would be the Evo MR if you can accept his price in terms of it is a Mitsubishi (about $39000 OTD) if you can talk the sales into it.

Good luck!

If I were to sell the ITR, I would consider the S2000 or an Acura TL. S2000 because it feels like the R but is RWD. Only drawback is that it is only a two seater, so starting a family would be impossible. TL because it is so refined and luxurious, a wonderful car that is a perfect fit for a small famliy.

I agree. The only options I see for you is either find some way to store the R and get a beater or find a new job.

All the cars you listed are nice as hell and would be stolen in a heartbeat if it is such a bad neighborhood/town. I would worry about those just as much as the R plus they are either equal to or more than the R. Plus you will want to mod those cars out too so you would be in the same boat as before. Just my .02
