Koni Sport Vs. Koni/Neuspeed version Sport?
im in the market in redoing my suspension. i notice a lot of koni sport users but i dont see much people using the neuspeed version. how much difference is there? the price is not much more and the neuspeed version there is 5 adjustments. is the neuspeed version worth the extra $$?
There are only 2 differences between the regular Sport and the Neuspeed-version Sport:
- The Neuspeed version has 5 grooves for the snap ring (+15mm, +7mm, stock, -7mm, and -15mm) as opposed to the usual two or three. If you're using coilover sleeves, this won't matter.
- The Neuspeed version has 20mm more of droop limiter inside.
Overall, not worth the extra money unless you're running just springs (as opposed to coilover sleeves) - in which case the perch height adjustability may be useful to you.

I think you may have already explained this w/your droop limiter statement. But aren't the neuspeeds slightly shortened?

No. They just have 20mm more of droop limiter inside, so the shaft extends 20mm less at full droop than with a regular Sport.

Hrm. So this is advantageous how?

Helps keep the spring from flopping around at full droop if there is no preload.

the neuspeed versions are more expensive? neva knew that...
i have both, neuspeeds in the front and reg in the rear (since they don't make the neuspeed versions for the ITR LCAs), but i bought them a long time ago...

I think you will generally find them about the same price.

If the Koni SP3's are from Neuspeed, does that mean that you have to go to Neuspeed for any warranty problems?
I've got them on my 89 Si Hatchback and got them due to the 5 grooves. Love them!!
CRX Lee; does Koni ever plan on selling a "coil-over" set-up for EF's & CRX's??

You can either go to through Neuspeed or through Koni North Amercia directly.

I don't really expect so, mostly due to the age causing the reduced market size and lower car values. We used to have a VW Rabbit kit as well but the market size for $1000+ proper coil-over kits on cars that may only be worth double that (or often less) really isn't enough to bank on to cover the R&D, manufacturing, etc. I'd love to do it but he business logistics make it tough.

I thought the shaft is shorter to keep it from bottoming out under full compression? Or is that the same thing? Does the Neuspeed version offer the lifetime warranty like the regular one too?

They are about the same price actually.... I've been looking at them for my car and I think I may go forward with it.

The shaft is the same. The limiter just keeps the shaft from extending fully. This is good for some areas that vehicle inspections require your springs to be preloaded when suspension is at full droop. Much cheaper than a helper spring kit ($200+).
Same warranty...

just order a set of the koni sport last week and its coming in tommorrow. since everyone is getting the regular sport over the neuspeed version so i just went along with everyone. if its pretty much the same price why isnt more people buying the neuspeed version since it has 5 grooves adjustment and more droop limiter..
Where's the cheapest you've seen KONI Yellows being sold online for? Additionally, are you guys talking about the KONI Yellow and Neuspeed Sport Spring combo or is there a specific product that Neuspeed sells that includes a line of their springs and KONI yellows? I'm kind of confused...

Check around with Koni retailers as the prices of yellow Konis for Hondas and a few other cars have been lowered by about 10-15% in the last few weeks. They are talking about the Koni Sport shocks and comparing them with a special model of Sport called the SP3 that Koni makes for Neuspeed and their dealers. The SP3s are also yellow, have the same valving and have more spring perch location options and an extra droop limiter to keep your shorter lowering springs in position when the car is jacked up.
