valves still tapping after adjustment
alright alright. i know adjustment questions are getting old real quick. but still this is weirding me out. I have been doning adjustments for a long time. But this morning when i did the adjustment and went to test drive i noticed it was running better like it was suppost to but after i got back i noticed that the valves were still tapping and heres the kicker. i got out the stethescope ( i know my spelling sucks ) and listened to the valves and instead of just a couple valves making noise. now all the intake valves are tapping. yep every singel intake valve. The exhaust valves dont appear to be making any nosie. The setting i used are the same as always 006 and 007 on the exhaust. I used the same feeler gauges and snap-on tool. Any ideas on this one. needless to say i will be redoing the adjustment tomorrow. but i thought this was kinda wierd.

I still haven't done mine after 38K (checked and it was fine). But lately I hear pinging/knocking noise from under the car when in 3, 4 or 5th gear at low rpms (<2500). As most of you know, out here in cali we only have 91 octane gas. Is the car actually knocking or is it the vavles?
I'll try putting in some octane booster and see if that helps, but thought I'd ask since this thread reminded me.

it probably is pinging you hear....either lower your ignition timing or dont give much throttle pressure when you are at low rpms in a higher gear. I'm sure my engine would ping if i was trying to accelerate from 2500 rpm in 5th gear. If it is pinging with only light throttle pressure..then back down on the timing.
and don't use octane booster it won't help.

maybe not your noise but....
when i used to work at dealership heard what sound like valve noise bt was cause by slightly loose timing belt....a little too much play can allow the cams to "slap"

After I did my first valve adj. on my B16 w/CTR intake cam, the idle made a pulseating noise like a REah, Reah, Reah kinda noise. Can this be the valves? I even double checked the lash the next morning, didnt help. Anyone have any ideas? BTW: Set in. to .006 and Ex. to .007.
I thought it might be something like the belt but remember guys i used a stethescope ( or how ever you spell the damn thing ) to listen to the valves. It is very clear that just the intake valves are tapping. I just thought this was funny. its the first time i noticed this after having the engine for a year. I will change the intake valve lash to .007 instead of .006 in the morning. i'll let you all know if this was the cause.
update::::
changed the settings to .007 and .007 after checking. none of the valves slipped. no bolts loose. this is some crazy Scheiße. Oh and check this. maybe its just me but the car feels faster. and not a little, but noticeblly. ???? umm. ???? WTF???
