bridgestone potenza s03's or bf goodrich kdw T/A
my wheels are in (18x8.0 44 offset with a real 49mm lip) gold volk gt-u's. Looking for a set of tires to mate to them. I never drive the car. maybe once a week maybe twice. My two choices are bridgestone potenza s03's or bf goodrich kdw T/A. I want the stickyness of the s03's but I want the quiteness of the kdw. the kdw is a bit cheaper also but that does'nt really matter. Anyone have any opinions, I'm really torn and I have no idea which ones to get. Thanks
i kept wondering why someone at my work was saying put 15" wheels on my RSX. I kept trying to explain that the stock brakes barely fit with the stock 16's. where are good places to read about tires??

Any comments on the tires would do, but I guess h-t is all about the falken azanis bandwagon

i'd take s03's over azenis any day of the week. i hear you on the azeni bandwagon, it's lame. but i've driven on 18 inch so3's on my dads 740i sport, they are incredible.
I'd go with the bfg's. I've read reviews of the so3 having terrible terrible wet traction after theyre about half worn, and IMO the bfg will be everything youll prob need. BUT if wet traction is absolutely no issue then id go with the so3's, theyre a great tire. Also on Azenis theres a bandwagon for a reason, theyre great tires period. Just got my 205/40/17 azenis rt-615(the new azenis) on my car yesterday and theyre really really amazing, I was having a little trouble breaking them loose in the rain and havent been able to yet in the dry(basically stock b16a2). So far theyre nothing short of spectacular, they feel like a true r compund tire(yes ive driven on r compounds)............John

ah, ok. yeah ive read those before. i guess it is a nice feature, but i've read some pretty crazy and off-base **** on those personal reviews
if your not worried about the $$$ then get the michelin pilot sport 2's. There based off formula one tires. You'll have excellent wet and dry traction plus a ultra smooth ride. But they are also some of the mot expensive street tires out there. As far as the s-03's go it's a great tire and I would recomend them over the KDW. The KDW is a more of a sport touring tire unless you mean the KDW2's? But trust me, if money is not an issue then look into the PS2's.

money is'nt an issue but I don't want to be replacing tires every year(I only drive my car maybe once a week only about 10-15 miles). Also because my wheels have bad camber, 18x8 44 offset requires me to camber my wheels a bit to keep from rubbing. yes I know that's not the ideal tire size and offset for my car but it looks real good and cambered wheels = better handling.

Hi there. I was wrestling somewhat with the same question. I was considering
SO-3s, but also wanted a second opinion. I spoke to several reps from the Tire Rack. They suggested that I also consider the new Michelin Sport PS2 summer tire. They cllaimed that the Michelin outperformed the SO-3. They also stated that the SO-3 has ben out for a while and that technology and other tire manufacturers are edging it out. I have no experience with the BF Goodrich tire. I ended up buying the Michelin Sport PS2 tires: 225-40/18. They are a summer tire, and are supposed to be very good in the wet. Time will tell. Good luck with your research and your ultimate selection.
PS-Keep the painted side up!

I got 2 mint s03s and 2 cambered ones...Handling is still sweet, I can't complain. My buddy took my car on some serious turns and he loved mine. Plus my tein flexs are only set at 8 and 8. I haven't really tweaked them as much as he did and he was surprised that he could handle so well with those settings.

so i guess you are on the "honda-tech" bandwagon then huh? oh wait, i guess we all are.
and whats wrong with buying a good tire. the azenis are good tires.

they are ok for the price, there are certainly better tires. plus, there are better tires that you can actually drive in the rain. most people aren't willing to pay at least 2-3 times the cost per tire though. oh well.
can't really lose with the S-03's. they are an all-around great tire. However, I don't think they are worth it when you can get MX's for a fraction of the price and minimal, if any difference in performance.
If you're looking for something a bit more comfy than the S-03's, but perform almost as well, I'd recc the Toyo-T1-s. IIRC, they are also quite a bit cheaper than the S03's as well. Best price i've found for toyo's are from http://www.edgeracing.com

I've had S0-3's on 18" BBS RC's on the M3 for the last 2 years. Tires prior to the S0-3's were Yokohama AVS Sports, Kumho Supra 712. Hands down, the S0-3's are the best tires I have ever ridden on. I've ridden on Eagle F1's, RE750's, ES100's, Azenis, T1-S....the list goes on. In my opinion, I don't think there is another Ultra High Performance tire on the market that can touch the S0-3 and it's all around performance.
This passed February I decided to try the Kumho MX's after reading some good reviews on them. I have yet to drive them in the rain. But as far as laying rubber on a hot California day, they handle and grip as well as my old S0-3's.
I'd say the S0-3's over the KDW. Unless you opt for the KD's, which are the Dry Only tire. But if you are going to be driving in weather like we have here in California (hot, rain, mud, gravel, dirt etc) then I'd suggest the S0-3's if you can cough up the 200 a tire for them.
If you haven't already, you can do MUCH research on http://www.tirerack.com They have great info and reviews. Good Luck

if price is an issue...they had some rebate on bridgestone s03s online. before that they had a sale on specific sizes. mine were $83-87 i forget exactly. Thats 195-50-15 tho, but still they had some specials not that long ago. they might be still going on.

That special rebate deal is over I believe. My brother got some 195/50/15 for 85 each and an additional 20 off each tire. But TireRack is having another promotion deal with their Goodyear Eagle F1-s. Those, also an exceptional all around tire.
