Anyone know if this will cause a problem?

I don't believe that you can. There was some changes in the connector during the OBD2 vs OBD2.2 that will cause some problems. Though I'm not ECU guru, this is off recollection of past threads.

No, you cannot. Changes in the evaporative emission control system prevent it.

no

they're only asking if you can use an earlier obd2 ecu with another obd2 vehicle
