Default Starter - 96 Accord LX Manual Trans - DIY?

Trying to find a DIY fix to correct it, instead of shelling out the $300-$400 in labor.
Starter issue with a 96 Accord LX Manual Transmission 4 cylinder

Whenver key is turned over, audible clicking noise is heard, do it repeatedly, and the engine will start as normal. Sometimes it will start without any problem, other times it takes time for it to finally start. My question comes down to - what would cause this - the starter or the starter relay - does even the manual transmission HAVE a starter relay? I called three discount parts stores today, and was told they don't carry it.

Any links, descriptions for removal (haynes manual just says unbolt) locations, etc. etc. would be great! THANKS!

It's really that simple, just unbolt it and disconnect the wiring harnasses going to it. It took me maybe 45 minutes to do it, and it prob took me 25 mins just to get the tools out
