Opinions Please!!(which cat-back w/ aftermarket turbo?)
Hi,
I recently purchased a '96 Accord LX. At some point in the (hopefully not-to-distant) future, I plan on installing a turbo kit. Right now, though, the exhaust system is in need of immediate replacement. I would like to put in an aftermarket exhaust system that will be an optimum match for the eventual turbo upgrade.
It is my understanding that a pipe diameter of 2.5 inches (or 70mm, if metric) is probably the best size for use w/ an afermarket turbo. Most of the exhausts for 5th gen accords, though, (such as those from greddy, jdm, and apexi) seem to be a bit smaller than that (2.5'/60mm.) My question is -- what do you think I should choose? Has anyone else on here turbo'd a 5th gen accord? If so, what exhaust system did you use? I don't want to spend the money on one now and find out that it's not a good choice for the turbo.
Also, any general info or links regarding the particular exhaust system requirements/concerns of turbo-charged cars would also be greatly appreciated. I'm just getting strarted in the world of car customization so any related hints/tips would be cool.
Anyway, sorry for the long post and thanks to anyone who helps me out.

Yup I don't have my car turbo charged but have though a lot about which exhaust to go wtih and I have basically narrowed it down to KTeller piping and Apexi N1 or Apexi WS or WSII I was leaning towards the N1 as I like how it looks verus I think the others are ugly but then I think it will be too loud so I'm now looking at the WS and WSII is the WSII that much better than the original I don't like how the second one looks at all.

there's no known turbo spec catback for any year of accord ever(in the state)
Ws, ws2 is way too restrictive for turbo, there's two resonator before the muffler unit(3 restriction), N1 apexi turbo spec muffler, Apexi dunk, es oval is better choice simply because of the straight thru design and the larger diameter of inlet/outlet(for example: apexi dunk 3inch opening inlet) but the downside is they don't sell it as a whole catback, you have to find some bents and pipe and have it welded(kteller.com =
) by custom catback, you'll lose the warranty, noise certification(when you get pull by cops, db test, etc)
the name of the game is backpressure, the lower the better(high horse, less spool time, lower temperture), dont worry about the noise, the turbo turbine itself is restrictive enough.
cliff note: grab a N1 turbo spec from apexi and rest of the pipe kit from mike(kteller)
