Wondering if ITRs in Columbus Ohio got problems with Theft, Haters, etc..

I know Pittsburgh Area pretty well and they don't really care about ITRs..
some of my Friends GSRs got jacked a couple times in Columbus..
and this weekend I might go there.. (the bad thing of not having a beater car)..

Any info guys? thanks.

Oh and Yes, I will go to Tuttle Mall, Easton, City Center, and Polaris.... also AMC Lennox.. or Buckeye Cafe..

 

Looks like you're going to the real rough sections of columbus. lol. Nah, you shouldn't have too much trouble at any of those places. There's a lot of money at those places and an ITR doesn't get much attention with all the Bimmers and Jags around

I don't live in Columbus, but I've had my R at Easton Town Center a couple times, Polaris 3 or 4 and never had any problems. IMO ITR's are practically invisible in Ohio anyway, so you could probably leave it unlocked and still not have anything to worry about. In the words of Rodney Dangerfield our ITR's get "no respect" here in Ohio.

 

You shouldnt have any problums in Ohio. I was just there its safe.

 

I have not had any problems and I have parked everywhere you mentioned. The I would think the closer you get to the OSU campus the more likely you might run into problems. I dont mean anything by that comment except there is more knowledge about the car there, so there may be a greater chance for theft or damage. All I no for sure is that I picked up 26 door dings (not in the ITR, a LS) in 2 years when I had to park on campus. I gave up counting after a while as it got depressing.

Yos, you are still alive?!?! So you won't be around this weekend? I was going to ask you if you wanted to help me install my carbon fiber dash kit and chill afterwards. Yeah, those areas are fine. You'll get a few riceboys who look your way, but otherwise not a big deal as long as you park smart. You sure are hitting all the new malls.

Like StageOne said, stay away from the Campus area if you possibly can.


And, wanna buy a cheap CF hood while you are in town

 

Like everyone else said, Columbus isn't a problem. Just stay away from campus area. I've had my Type R for about 3 years now in Columbus with no problems.

Anyway, since I seem to have everyone one here I know of with Type R's in Central Ohio (all the Solo II guys), are you guys going to the Type R Expo at Gingerman? I'm trying to get some local people to caravan up there. I'm going and Robinson's thinking about it. Drop me a line if you want to go or want some info on it. I wrote Jeff B and Sean e-mails about it but haven't heard back from you guys.
