Default dynatech Vortex cone?

Has anyone use this before? Does it really lower the db? I need to make it alittle more quite.

Something about:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">provides a large friction area to reflect and dissipate sound energy, thus reducing the dB level. </TD></TR></TABLE>
vs.
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">no significant backpressure has been introduced, the engine is still able to use the scavenge ability of a good header to create horsepower and torque.</TD></TR></TABLE>

makes me go O_o;

Plus it is offered only for 3" to 4.5" applications... /shrug

I have about 10 of those things at work, varying perforated diameters:

Something tells me this would be more effective for my line of work though.

We'll be giving one a try this spring in the 2.0L project car.

Well I just ordered one. My muffler is a 3in so I'll just stick it in there. Let you guys know how it goes. If that doesn't work then this is my last option

Just a piece of cardboard, a utility knife, and some duct-tape, I'll show you how to make one.

Mannnnn. damn. That vortex thing took the db level down about 2 db only damn, I would need like 15 of those to make my car quite then.
The site said "Dyno and track testing show <U>significant</U> noise reduction "
But the box it came with said "Dyno and track testing show 2-3 db noise reduction"
If only they have said that on the web site, would of made my life easier by not looking at it.

I'm just gonna return it to get the car chemistry one.

Let us know how the car chemistry one works out. I'm very interested to see if it's for real.
