Default i finally got time to work on my car...

hey guys since it's spring break for many students stariting friday...i can finally do maintenance work on my da9...my question is what kind of tranny fluid you guys use for the ls trannys?

I have used both Pennzoil Syncromesh and Honda MTF. Both do the job, if you have any grinds you might want to check out the Syncromesh (either regular or FM), if not, just go with the Honda stuff - it's cheaper and does the job.

This is on a 92 LS by the way, 152k miles and no grinds or tranny problems at all.

thanks guys...now what i need to know is that will i need a pump to add the fluid into the tranny?

or you can use a funnel. but either should work fine.

I always use a funnel with a long hose attached, with a little cap for when it starts dripping. Or you could fill it through the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) on top of the tranny.

the vss is easier but you need to remove the intake. replacing the drain bolt depends on the condition.
