Weird idle?
I just did a bunch of work on the civic (engine swap to another stock engine, suspension swap, etc). Now it doesn't want to idle properly. It idles around 2000rpm when it's cold.
When warm it'll idle at like 1200 rpm, then it'll keep dipping idle and almost dying (fair amount of smoke out the exhaust at this part). Then the fan will kick in and soon after that it goes back to 1200. Over and over like this.
Anyone ever have this problem? I checked all the wires and hoses and it seems to be all good.

check spark plugs. maybe there fouled with oil or water. when mine did that the cylinders were filled with water cutting the spark. cause the head gasket gone bad. so you can check that.
I had some trouble with the plugs being fouled so I just replaced them and it ran like a champ last night. Then today it idles all weird. I'll pull and make sure though. The engine was running perfectly when I pulled it from my CRX.
if that doesn't work then, beneath the TB there's a sensor pull it off and see if the scews within it had come loose. I had this problem when I replaced my motor too. a quick way to check to see if thats the problem is to pull off the air intake and theres gonna be a small hole in the TB on the firewall side. plug it, for a few seconds and see if that makes it stop. don't plug it with something as a perminent fix if it does stop because your car will run EXTREMELY RICH. and no body likes that.
replace your PCV, that fixed mine. Then take off your EACV and clean it..that should fix it for the most part.
But if it doesn't it puts you in the same boat as me
