Default User opinions

Okay, I have a 1989 crx si, bone stock except the engine in this si was blown up, so i ended up with a 1.5 out of a dx. Im looking for opinions, both engine-wise and looks.I made an attempt at a first post asking how to make an si into an siR....Whoo the flames i endured.So now im gonna make this a been-there-done-that kinda experience thing.Should i keep my current engine, or go either d16 or b16 (least likely) or any other opinions are accepted.

As to the body I had originally planned to go full jdm, but it looks to be a little deeper than my pockets can handle right now.I refuse to just jump up run out and grab the most attention grabbing body kit out there and strapping it on with some projectors and euros.I hate rice with a passion. So should i buy a tasteful kit (such as the mugen- lookingwings west kit) or just go straight jdm kit?

I would love to later on do a rhd conversion, grab a b16, and a 3t/t4 turbo kit, but as things stand, all that i have in cemented plans is The folding mirrors, the glasstop sunroof, z3 fenders, and some clean white rims. (the car will end up very dark silver or black)

I want the car to flow, and be clean. In my opinion, simplicity goes a long way
All, i need opinions!

You hate rice but you're buying z3 fenders?

Hmmm. What is your budget per month? I could tell you my opinion but really we need to know what kind of money you can invest before anything else.

to eda6, the z3s arent that ricey when used in taste.Theyll also eventually serve a purpose venting as well. and to crx 1.8t, while im still in school, im looking at about 100.00 a week until the summer, then im looking at 250.00 at the least a week. Construction sucks when youre in school....

The zc has 130hp but is very cheap and bolts right into the 4g civic and 2g crx

The b16a has 160hp but costs more and only bolts in with the aid of a mount kit

I have had both in my 4dr and imo the b16a>zc

I'm sorry, but in my opinion, Z3 fenders are ridiculous. And they are nearly useless as well. If you don't believe me, go pull the fender off of your CRX, you will see that there will be virtually no venting going on with it on there anyways.

I am not sure of your school months, but I just guessed. Here is what I would do if I were you, since you have limited budget:

April: $400
* use all $400 to buy the 130 hp D16Z6 VTEC or a 130 hp DOHC ZC

May: $400
* use $400 to replace any need parts that are damaged, ie maintenance things

June: $1000+
* save $600 for a turbo kit
* spend $400 on good condition used wheels and tires (or put towards suspension)

July: $1000+
* save $900 for a turbo kit
* spend $100 on decorative item like a JDM piece, tint, or some other eye candy ****

August: $1000+
*save $1000 for a turbo kit

September: $400
*save $300 for a turbo kit
*save $100 for a new clutch

October: $400
*save $300 for a turbo kit
*save $100 for a new clutch

November: $400
*save $300 for the rest of the turbo money
*buy a turbo kit with accumulated $3400
* save the other $100 for engine management/electronics

December: $400+ (Christmas )
* spend the $500 on engine management/electronics

January: $400
* get that beeyotch tuned with the turbo at a shop!

****** Of course this is like the worst case scenario. I almost guarantee you could get it done before this man.

To crx 1.8t, you are a badass.I am damn horrible with my money but now with a plan i know where to put every damn bit of my money.And just as a question, what should i do with all of the money ill be selling my old parts/ **** from the parts car?the parts car has a running auto 1.5 dx engine/tranny setup and most parts, do you know a asking range for any of this?I have euro tails, projector headlamps, and ricey clear corners that i would be willing to trade even with anyone for stock heads tails and corners. Do you think the money i get from selling this stuff i should buy a glasstop?Any help man.
